Description
Main cap bolts are a crucial component to maintain crankshaft alignment and ensure proper seals at the main bearing caps. Stock main cap bolts often yield in performance applications or even in stock conditions as stress cycles cumulate, which can lead to catastrophic engine failure. The PPE Main Stud Kit is designed to address this common failure point.
The PPE Main Studs are constructed of premium chrome-moly alloy with over 215,000 psi yield strength and over 230,000 psi tensile strength. Each stud is heat treated before being centerless ground and thread rolled, which effectively reduces stress concentration and results in a much higher fatigue resistance. Broaching of studs is performed via EDM to ensure top-level precision. All studs and nuts come with black oxide finish.
The kit comes complete with assembly lubricant packet for uniform load distribution and accurate torque readings.
